As of December 1 of each year<\/strong>, all motor vehicles registered in Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong>, with the exception of heavy vehicles, tool vehicles and agricultural machines, must be equipped with four tires specifically designed for winter driving<\/strong>. This requirement is set out in the Regulation respecting the use of tires specifically designed for winter driving<\/strong>, enacted under the Highway Safety Code (section 440.1)<\/strong>, and remains in effect until March 15 inclusive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The tires installed must comply with recognized winter standards and bear the mountain and snowflake pictogram<\/strong>, or be studded tires authorized under current regulations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n This obligation also applies to rental passenger vehicles<\/strong>, mopeds<\/strong> and motorcycles<\/strong>.
